1. Media planners need to know about the music industry because there are laws that require proper rules for using music in commercials, ad promotions, and etc and also to stay fresh of new trends that change throughout the music industry.
2. The general trends in record sales has changed a great deal over the period of time because the advance of technology. More music can be downloaded instead of purchased which basically steal sales and money from the actual artist.

1). Brands advertise on google by basing there product on how much they spend and how well it captures a persons attention better then there competitor.
2). The biggest adavantage of advertising on google and why it is the lifeblood for many businesses is because its accuracy of the data they find is verified by many sources that has first hand knowledge of the spending level. It is the lifeblood for many businesses because it gives clarity to that company that there ad will be noticed.
3). Yes, i think it wasa good move for BP to put forth 100 million dollars in there advertising because they need to gain back there positive rep that they use to have and gain back the trust in there customers that the damage the has occured is being taking care of with extreme caution as well as care. Having great ads that graps the attention of people can turn around the bad image they once had back to a positive one.

Basically, its setting a barrier that can only be crossed if the price is over what the next ad has. having an ad that has 100 million dollar worth of work put into it explains that not only is hardwork and dedication put into this problem, but they are willing to pay anything to gain back the positive notiriaty hey once had.
